Learning From Home

Some suggestions to help your child learn from home – updated 14/01/2021

First of all, thank you. If you are reading this it means you have accessed our ‘Learning from Home’ page on the school website and want to support your child’s learning when school is closed.

In this section of our website you will find key information to support you and your child with learning from home, including our remote education timetable, further information on our remote education provision as well as our Remote Education Provision document.  You will also find some helpful guidance on using our online learning platforms.

It is important that your child fully engages with our remote learning timetable in order to support their progress and development while schools remain closed to the majority of children. Pupils are expected to follow the full timetable of work, including attending live streamed lessons, as outlined on the daily timetable. However, the school understands this may not always be possible. We realise that everyone's homes are different and that the family may have to share laptops or mobiles. We have staggered the live lessons on our timetable so that siblings who share devices can still attend live lessons with their teacher.

We understand that learning from home will be a challenge for some families who may be balancing working from home, caring for sick family members or looking after little ones as well as supporting their children with home learning. As a school we are here to assist you where we possibly can, and your continued support is greatly appreciated. If you are having difficulty with using these resources, please email office@sghsprimary.co.uk and we will get back to you to try to help.
